A day after the Florida House started moving forward with its version of the plan, the Senate on Friday released a wide-ranging bill that would add restrictions to the state’s ballot initiative process.

Should it be harder for a ballot initiative to pass in Florida?Right now for an amendment to be enshrined in the Florida Constitution, it needs to be approved by 60% of the state’s voters. But Florida lawmakers are proposing to increase that threshold to 66.67%. To do that, they’d need to ask voters via a ballot initiative.
