Prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty against an Osceola County woman accused of killing her 3-year-old child and trying to kill her husband and 8-year-old child.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced his appointment of a Winter Park judge to the Sixth District Court of Appeal on Wednesday.

A 3-year-old died and an 8-year-old was injured after their mother forced them to drink bleach before trying to kill herself outside a Poinciana church Sunday, Osceola Sheriff Marcos Lopez said in a news briefing Tuesday.
