The body of a 67-year-old man was found in a Leesburg lake, according to the police department.

A 72-year-old man was found dead in a Tavares lake, officials say.

The pilot of a small plane was uninjured Sunday morning after the plane had mechanical issues and crashed into Lake Harris, according to the Tavares Police Department. The pilot was unable to land the plane back at the Leesburg International Airport, but after the plane crashed into the lake, was able to swim to safety, police said.
