My Safe Florida Home is about to begin accepting applications for inspections that could lead to state-matched grants to help homeowners pay for resiliency projects in the face of another hurricane season.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed two bills to shore up “My Safe Florida” programs meant to dole out hurricane mitigation grants for owners of eligible homes and condos, as well as condo associations, to boost storm resiliency.

A bill headed to Gov. Ron DeSantis would put new money in the coffers of a popular Florida program to help homeowners pay for hurricane-related home improvements.
