Several bus riders are voicing their concerns about bus stop improvements and safety. This comes a week after 32-year-old Nelson Odige was sentenced to life in prison for raping a woman at a bus stop in Pine Hills in 2023.

A man convicted of raping a woman at a bus stop in Pine Hills was sentenced to life in prison.

Prosecutors say Nelson Odige targeted victims while they waited at bus stops along or near Hiawassee Road. On Thursday, Odige told the court that he was helping the women by offering them rides.

A man accused in a series of rapes in the Pine Hills area of Orange County in 2023 was found guilty in one of the cases.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said it’s arrested a suspect in a series of bus stop attacks in the Pine Hills area of Orange County.
