A search is underway on a Polk County lake after crews responded to a potential drowning call on Sunday afternoon.

A crash in the Avon Park area sent three people to the hospital as trauma alerts, according to Polk County Fire Rescue.

One person was found dead after a mobile home in Polk County became fully engulfed in flames, according to fire rescue.

A Polk County Fire Rescue ambulance taking a stroke patient to a hospital was struck in a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 4 in Plant City, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

In a release, the county stated that fire crews were called to a mobile home community at 9000 Highway 192 in the Four Corners area around 5:15 p.m.

DAVENPORT, Fla. – A 94-year-old woman and her pet were killed Wednesday night in a mobile home fire, officials said. The fatal fire was reported around 9:15 p.m. on Lake Wilson Road in Davenport. Polk County Fire Rescue was called to a structure fire with possible entrapment and found the single-wide mobile home engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished, and after a search of the home, the woman and her pet were found dead, county officials said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
