A front is trying to sink southward across our area supported by a powerful jet stream and a pretty decent slug of cooler air just to the north of where the front is draped now. As we move through tonight into your Sunday, that front should start to kick on down towards the south. While doing so, we could see some heavier bouts of rain in some spots and potential stray strong storms.

Tonight and into tomorrow we'll see some of our highest amounts of rainfall possible during this set up. We finally start to see a reprieve about mid week, before the pattern starts to switch up on us bringing down our first small dose of fall just in time for next weekend.

Sunday is the day our next front arrives, dragging in plenty of moisture, rain, and a few isolated stronger storms for some before we enter a beautiful evening to celebrate the new year.
