Two soggy storm systems will combine this weekend bringing two days of rain starting up Saturday morning and lingering late into Sunday evening.
With the wind off of the Atlantic all weekend, expect periods of showers and downpours, highest for the first of the day Saturday. Highs under mainly cloudy skies top out in the mid-to-upper 70s Saturday.

Fred continues to churn in the Gulf of Mexico Sunday. As the storm lifts north toward the Panhandle of Florida, clouds will continue to stick around for Central Florida. The heaviest rain will be tied to the Gulf of Mexico and the extreme West Coast of Florida, but a few showers and storms will be possible locally as Fred pulls in moisture.

ORLANDO, Fla. Downpours off the East Coast of Florida will sneak on shore Sunday morning and weaken as they move inland. As Sunday afternoon pushes on, storm chances increase to about 50%. As the sun goes down, the storm chances will also fade. A few scattered storms will be around Monday afternoon with the best chances along the coast. An area of low pressure may try to get its act together as it moves away from Florida and toward the Carolinas, but strong wind shear should prevent tropical development.

ORLANDO, Fla. – A lot of Central Florida will be dry Saturday, but a few storms are expected to develop later in the day. While storms Saturday afternoon will be isolated in nature, the rain will be heavy in any storm that gets going. Parts of Marion County received up to 3 inches of rain Friday night and as a result, Marion County is under a Flash Flood Watch until 10 p.m. Saturday.
