BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A 39-year-old Vero Beach man was killed early Sunday in a crash with a big rig on Interstate 95 in Brevard County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The FHP said Neil Shafranski died in the crash, which was reported at 12:37 a.m. on I-95 south near the Pineda Causeway.
Troopers said Shafranski was driving a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta southbound when he rear-ended a tractor-trailer for an unknown reason.
Shafranski was pronounced dead at the scene, the FHP said.
The big rig driver was not hurt.
It's not been determined if alcohol played a role in the crash, the FHP said.
All southbound lanes were closed, but they reopened about three hours later.
