The FHP said Emilio Puerto Hernandez, 50, of Miami, was driving the dump truck west on U.S. 192 when he failed to stop as he approached traffic and drove over a raised median into eastbound lanes.
The front of the motorcycle, which was heading east, struck rear of the truck, the FHP said. The motorcyclist, a 48-year-old Groveland man died at the scene, troopers said.
The truck then hit the left side of a Honda SUV, killing a Kissimmee teen, the FHP said.
The dump truck driver was not hurt.
Eastbound lanes of U.S. 192 were blocked in the area.
Charges are pending against Hernandez, the FHP said.
