The FHP said the woman was involved in a minor crash at Old Lake Wilson and Sinclair Road and fled the scene. No one was injured in the crash, according to an FHP crash report.

Troopers said the woman then drove south on Old Lake Wilson at a high rate of speed and lost control of her car, which left the road and hit the pole.

The woman, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both crashes are under investigation.
