VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A 64-year-old man was killed Sunday evening in a crash on State Road 44 in Volusia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred happened around 11:50 p.m. near Cucumber Lane.

According to a crash report, a 2022 Toyota Corolla traveling west was speeding, failed to slow down and collided with the back of a dump truck.
The driver of the 2022 Toyota Corolla, the 64-year-old Pierson man, was pronounced dead on the scene, troopers said.
The driver of the dump truck, a 63-year-old Ormond Beach man, was uninjured.
Both men were wearing seatbelts, according to troopers.
An investigation is ongoing.
