Driver, passenger killed in single-vehicle crash on US-192 in Osceola County

Crash happened on westbound ramp to northbound World Drive

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A driver and passenger were killed in a single-vehicle crash in Osceola County on Monday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the deadly crash happened at 11:40 a.m. on the U.S. Highway 192 westbound ramp to northbound World Drive in Kissimmee.

According to a preliminary crash report, a Toyota RAV-4 was traveling west on U.S. Highway 192 approaching World Drive when the driver failed to negotiate a curve and ran off of the road to the left.

Troopers said the SUV then overturned into a pond and become submerged in water.

According to the FHP, the driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers said there is currently a roadblock on the westbound ramp from U.S. Highway 192 to northbound World Drive.

The crash remains under investigation.
