Woman struck, killed by train in Holly Hill, sheriff’s office says

HOLLY HILL, Fla. – A woman was killed early Saturday in Holly Hill when she attempted to cross railroad tracks and was struck by a train, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

It happened shortly after 2 a.m. in the area of 3rd Street, the sheriff’s office said on social media.

The woman was struck by a northbound train, the post states.

Investigators were still working to determine the woman’s identity and notify next of kin at the time of this report.
