BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A driver was killed after he was ejected from his pickup truck when it overturned Tuesday on Interstate 95 in Brevard County, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
Troopers said the fatal crash happened around 11:45 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-95 in the Cocoa area near mile marker 204.

According to a preliminary FHP crash report, the man was driving a Nissan Titan north on the interstate in the outside lane when a tire ruptured.

Troopers said the driver then overcorrected the truck, which began to rotate and then overturned. The vehicle then came to a final rest on the driver’s side on the outside grass shoulder of the interstate.
According to the crash report, the driver – identified as a 79-year-old Clewiston man – was ejected from the vehicle. He was airlifted to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, the FHP said.
A passenger in the vehicle, a 47-year-old Clewiston woman, was not injured, troopers said.
The crash remains under investigation.
