Pedestrian killed after being struck by vehicle in Flagler County

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A 63-year-old Palm Coast man died after being struck by a vehicle leaving a private driveway in Flagler County on Monday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said an SUV, being driven by a 40-year-old Palm Coast woman, was at a stop sign on a private driveway around 1:18 p.m. The driver made a left turn onto Palm Coast Parkway when a pedestrian ran across the road into the path of the SUV.

As a result, the SUV struck the man, according to a crash report.

Troopers said the man was airlifted to Halifax Hospital in critical condition, but later died from his injuries.

Howard Wieder reached out to News 6 to say it was his brother Jay Wieder who was killed in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
