ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 17-year-old girl was killed early Monday in a rear-end crash on State Road 408 in Orange County that shut down the eastbound lanes for hours overnight, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers responded around 3:10 a.m. to the crash near the Dean Road exit, just east of State Road 417.

According to troopers, the crash involved a 2024 Honda Civic, a 2017 Dodge Caravan, and a 2016 Toyota Corolla.
According to a crash report, the driver of the Honda, a 35-year-old Orlando man, hit the back left of the Dodge, driven by a 17-year-old Celebration girl.
At the same time, the Toyota was stopped on the right shoulder and three people were standing outside of it, a 27-year-old from Orlando, a 26-year-old Coral Springs man and a 27-year-old North Bay Village man.
The crash caused the Dodge to rotate and hit the three people standing outside the Toyota, troopers said.
The girl was pronounced dead at the scene. According to a crash report, she was not wearing a seat belt.
The 27-year-old from Orlando and the 26-year-old Coral Springs man were both taken to the hospital in critical condition. The other man standing outside the Toyota had minor injuries.
The roadway was shut down but later reopened around 9 a.m.
An investigation is ongoing.
