The FHP said the man was driving a 2019 Mustang “above the posted speed limit” and failed to observe the big rig ahead of him.

The Mustang crashed into the back of the big rig and came to rest under the trailer, according to troopers.

The driver of the Mustang was pronounced dead at the scene, according to an FHP report.

The big rig driver, a 53-year-old Palm Bay man, was not injured and stayed at the scene, the FHP said.

I-95 north was closed after the crash but was later reopened.

An investigation is ongoing.
