Pedestrian struck, killed by SUV in Deltona, sheriff’s office says

Crash occurred at intersection of Howland Boulevard, Lake Helen Osteen Road

DELTONA, Fla. – A 66-year-old Deltona woman was struck and killed Tuesday night at an intersection in Volusia County, according to the sheriff’s office.

The crash occurred around 10 p.m. as the woman was attempting to cross at the intersection of Howland Boulevard and Lake Helen Osteen Road in Deltona, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said on social media.

According to witnesses, the driver involved in the crash had a green light and “never saw the woman trying to cross the intersection,” the post states. The woman was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim’s family has been notified and a crash investigation is underway, the sheriff’s office said.
