ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – An 85-year-old woman was struck and killed Monday by a vehicle that also crashed into an Orange County Dollar Tree store, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the fatal wreck happened around 12:46 p.m. on Silver Star Road, west of Pine Hills Road.

According to an FHP crash report, a Mercedes-Benz GLA was driving south in the parking lot of the Dollar Tree, attempting to to enter a parking spot.

At the same time, the 85-year-old woman was walking north while exiting the Dollar Tree.
For unknown reasons, the Mercedes collided with the curb, continued south and crashed into the woman and the front of the store, troopers said.
Troopers said that after the collision, the vehicle continued traveling south into the front of the Dollar Tree.
The pedestrian was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, according to the FHP.
According to the crash report, the driver of the Mercedes, identified as a 68-year-old woman, was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
