Man on probation faces new charges in Volusia County hit-and-run crash

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A 37-year-old man who was on probation for manslaughter with a firearm, was arrested Sunday evening after fleeing from a crash with drugs and a loaded gun, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said they were assisting DeLand police with a hit-and-run crash when they received a 911 call for a second crash.

According to a news release, the person involved in that crash, identified as Timothy Woulard Jr., ran from deputies.

Deputies said after a chase and “several Taser deployments,” Woulard was placed under arrest.

According to the release, Woulard had the keys to the hit-and-run suspect vehicle in his pocket along with “several yellow rocks” that tested positive for fentanyl.

Deputies said they also recovered a loaded handgun Woulard was accused of dropping while running from them.

During their investigation, deputies learned that Woulard was on probation for manslaughter with a firearm.

He faces charges of violation of his probation in addition to the new charges of DUI with damage, leaving the scene of a crash, possession of a firearm/ammo by a convicted felon, carrying a concealed firearm, resisting without violence, and possession of a controlled substance.

Woulard was being held without bond, officials said.

Deputies did not release any details about the initial hit-and-row crash.
