Video captures dramatic water rescue after car plunges into Millenia-area pond Orange County Fire Rescue team witnessed crash
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A driver was rescued Thursday after a car plunged into a retention pond in the Millenia area of Orange County.
The dramatic rescue, which was captured on video, happened when an Orange County Fire Rescue crew driving nearby saw the car crash into the water.
Firefighters swam nearly 80 yards to reach the sinking vehicle, pulling the driver to safety.
The driver was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, but no other details were released.
Orlando fire crews and a dive team later arrived to recover the car, which sank after the rescue.
