Storms, severe weather clear up, but temperatures plummet

Temperatures to drop to 42 degrees Sunday night

ORLANDO, Fla. – "After storms and severe weather on Saturday, we have cleared up, but our temperatures have plummeted," News 6 meteorologist Madeline Evans said.

There were freeze warnings in effect for Lake, Volusia, and Marion counties until 9 a.m. Sunday, and a wind chill advisory for the rest of central Florida until 2 p.m.

Some areas woke up below freezing this morning, and won't be warming up much.

Sunday's high in Orlando is only 55 degrees, but with the gusty winds mixed in, it will feel colder than that.

"The good news is we do not have a chance of rain today. We will stay dry all day long and have lots of sunshine ahead of us," Evans said.

Temperatures will drop to a low of 42 Sunday night, with the winds still picking up from the north at 10-15 mph, possibly gusting as high as 20 mph.

The warm-up begins Monday, with temperatures making it to a high of 66, then reaching near the 80's by Thursday.
