ORLANDO, Fla. – The National Hurricane Center continues to keep tabs on a tropical wave in the eastern Atlantic Ocean.
As of Thursday morning, the wave was moving west, a few hundred miles southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.

Hurricane experts say dry air to the north may prevent significant organization during the next couple of days, but environmental conditions could become more conducive for some development this weekend.
The NHC said the wave has a 20% chance of developing tropical characteristics over the next seven days.
The next named storm will be called Emily.

Meantime, Tropical Storm Don early Thursday was about 855 miles west-southwest of The Azores. The storm will not impact the United States and should stay out to sea.
Hurricane season runs through November.
