ORLANDO, Fla. – A cold front that cleared Central Florida on Sunday has ushered in a much cooler and drier setup for the week, with temperatures starting in the 40s and 50s.
Monday looks to be the coldest day of the week with highs struggling to warm out of the 50s by the afternoon under mostly sunny skies. Even with all the sunshine expected Monday, northwest winds up to 15-20 mph will make it feel even more chilly than the actual highs.
Temperatures Monday night and into Tuesday morning will dip even further into the 30s and 40s with a chance for some patchy frost across areas of inland Flagler and all of Marion County.
A reinforcing shot of cold air will slide through the area with little fanfare by Wednesday. A bit more cloud cover will be seen on Wednesday with winds picking up again between 10-15 mph and gusts up to 20 mph.
Behind the front, temperatures will remain near to below average through the rest of the week in the upper 60s to near 70.
Long range models still remain divided on the forecast for the weekend as a messy weather pattern develops across the country. At this point the weekend looks to turn soggy with rain chances on the rise (40-50%).
