OMG! The sun will shine on Florida after 2 days of constant rain

Overnight lows to dip into low 40s in Orlando area

ORLANDO, Fla. – After two days of constant rain over the weekend, Central Florida is looking forward to much drier weather for the workweek.

Not including the rain on Monday morning, Central Florida saw impressive and very beneficial rain between Saturday and Sunday. Most of our reporting locations show more than 2 inches of rain fell over the weekend.

Scattered showers will linger through Monday morning, with improving weather conditions expected for east Central Florida by the afternoon. Along with gradually clearing skies, winds will continue to pick up out of the north between 10-15 mph, with even stronger gusts along the coast.

Due to the strong breeze, a high surf advisory and a gale warning are in effect through the day, making any beach or boating activities very dangerous though the Presidents Day holiday.

In the wake of the departing front, highs on Monday will remain below average, in the mid-60s, followed by a slight warmup through the rest of the week.

Our coldest temperatures will be felt early Tuesday, with wakeup temperatures in the 30s for far northern neighborhoods and the mid-40s along the I-4 corridor.

Our next cold front will approach the region by Friday, bringing back the chance for scattered showers at 40-50%.
