ORLANDO, Fla. – Spring officially arrives before midnight Tuesday, but it won’t feel like it in Central Florida!
Behind Monday’s strong cold front, highs Tuesday will be held in the mid- to upper 60s, even though sunshine will be dominant.
The gusty winds that accompanied the front overnight will remain through Tuesday afternoon. Winds gradually subside by Wednesday morning.
The coldest morning of the next several days will be Wednesday, with most of Central Florida waking up in the 40s. A few 30s will be sprinkled in northwest of Orlando. Temperatures will fall into the lower 50s along the immediate coast.
High temperatures rebound to the mid-70s Wednesday afternoon.
The next best shot for rain arrives late Thursday night and especially Friday as a large storm system moves through the Gulf of Mexico.
There is still some uncertainty as to what part of Florida will receive the heaviest rain, but rain chances will spike to 70%.
Most of the moisture should be gone for the weekend.
