ORLANDO, Fla. – A large dome of high pressure maintains its grip across the Southeast, keeping Florida under a very dry and hot stretch into the coming weekend.
Partly to mostly sunny skies remain overhead Wednesday as highs warm into the upper 80s inland, and near 80 along the coast. The average high in Orlando for mid-April is 83 degrees.

Starting Thursday, temperatures are forecast to soar into the low 90s. The hottest day looks to be Saturday, with highs in Orlando maxing out at 94, which would be 2 degrees shy of tying a record.
Several locations across the region will also be in record-breaking territory.
Along with the unseasonably warm stretch, we will also remain in the driest stretch in months.
The large ridge of high pressure will finally flatten out by early next week, allowing a weakening front to enter the area. This system will bring some rain, with coverage up to 30-40% and an end to the 90-degree stretch.
