ORLANDO, Fla. – The hottest and driest stretch in months continues across Central Florida as a large ridge of high pressure continues to be the dominant weather feature.
TEMPERATURES
Starting Thursday, highs will reach the low 90s across inland neighborhoods and the low 80s for coastal communities.
Expect high temperatures to reach 90 degrees or greater each afternoon through the weekend, with the hottest day being Saturday (mid-90s).
Leesburg will have the best chance to breaking a record high on Thursday, staring down the record of 90 degrees set in 1990.
By Saturday, most reporting stations will reach record-breaking territory.
RAIN CHANCES
High-level clouds will gradually clear through Thursday afternoon, while conditions at the surface remain too dry to produce any significant rain Friday and into the weekend.
Some isolated sprinkles may be possible Sunday afternoon due to increasing moisture ahead of the next front approaching North Florida.
WEATHER CHANGES
A weak cold front will approach the Florida peninsula early Monday, leading to rain chances at 30-50%. Isolated storms cannot fully be ruled out.
The front is forecast to move south and weaken through the day Monday, with an area of high pressure building behind it.
Highs will cool slightly early next week, into the upper 80s.
