Cold front brings cooler temps to start week in Central Florida

High will remain in the 70s Monday afternoon

ORLANDO, Fla. – A weak cold front is inching closer to Central Florida, building up the cloud cover and even producing a few isolated sprinkles of rain over Marion and Flagler counties.

A line of heavy showers over northern Marion County will continue to be pushed southward as a cold front moves in.

Between Sunday evening and 3 a.m., this line of rain will move into the metro with much of the rain clearing Osceola County before sunrise. There will be times of moderate to heavy rain along with occasional wind gusts in the 30-40 mph range, but most of the activity should remain below the severe weather threshold.

The west-to-southwest wind also picked up and will slow down a little overnight as the cold front pushes through early Monday morning.

We can’t rule out a few showers passing by Sunday evening into early Monday morning, but the overall coverage is minimal at 20%. Most remain dry.

Cooler air begins to move in behind that front keeping afternoon highs in the upper 70s tomorrow afternoon. It will be a little breezy with the northwest wind around 10 mph.

We start the day off a little damp and cloudy in the 60s. Afternoon highs to kick off the work week will stay in mid-to-upper 70s.
