ORLANDO, Fla. – Temperatures are expected to rage into the upper 90s across Central Florida, just in time for the unofficial start of summer -- Memorial Day weekend.

Here’s how things look the next several days in the Orlando area.

THURSDAY

Dry air remains suspended over Central Florida for another day, with very limited rain around through Thursday afternoon.

Light winds off the ocean will push east coast sea breeze inland through the day. With the lack of rain, temperatures are expected to warm into the mid- to low 90s, with humidity values also on the rise.

FRIDAY-WEEKEND

The big weather story for all of Central Florida will continue to be the heat as temperatures are forecast to soar to near record-breaking territory in the mid- to upper 90s but feeling like the triple digits.

Little to no rain will be expected through the holiday weekend, with coverage at 10-20%.

Luckily, this means the forecast is looking GREAT to be pool or beachside this weekend. Beachgoers, remember to always swim by a lifeguard as rip current risk remains elevated.

NEXT WEEK

A little extra moisture seeps back into Central Florida by Tuesday and Wednesday, with rain chances increasing back to seasonal values at 40-50% and highs remaining in the 90s.

TROPICS

With nine days until the start of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season, the National Hurricane Center identified the first tropical wave of the season on Wednesday.

Conditions are not expected to be favorable for any development, but it’s a sign that the tropics are starting to wake up.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will release its forecast for the 2024 hurricane season Thursday morning.
