ORLANDO, Fla. – A weakening cool front entering north Florida on Tuesday will continue to inject additional moisture and instability into the region through the afternoon.

Due to the setup, expect scattered showers and storms in the Orlando area to develop by noon and track east through the evening. Rain chances remain elevated at 40-50%, with most activity diminishing after sundown along the east coast.

Although the severe threat remains minimal, storms that do develop will be capable of strong wind gusts near 50 mph.

Before the storms develop, expect another hot afternoon, with highs once again reaching the mid- to upper 90s and heat indices between 100-105 degrees.

The cool front will push south of the area by midweek, keeping rain chances lower than normal at 10-20% through Thursday. Highs will remain in the mid- to upper 90s.

Temperatures are forecast to shift more seasonal by the weekend, with the return of the east coast sea breeze. Afternoon hours remain active as sea breeze storms will develop with coverage at 40-50%.
