Sunny but not as hot in Central Florida as hurricane season begins

Afternoon highs are expected to be slightly below average

ORLANDO, Fla. – Happy weekend! Plenty of sunshine is expected with afternoon highs slightly below average in the upper 80s in Orlando.

Along the coast will be “cooler,” climbing into the lower 80s.

The beach forecast looks fantastic. No rain in sight today, but winds will continue to howl out of the east between 10-20 mph with wind gusts up to 25 mph. A high rip current risk is in place this weekend.

Rain chances go up to 30-40% on Sunday with highs in the lower 90s. Rain chances stay low-to-moderate through the work week with daytime highs slowly creeping into the middle-to-upper 90s by Wednesday.
