ORLANDO, Fla. – Most of Central Florida will remain dry Tuesday, however, those closer to the coast will see elevated rain chances.
Between a developing system in the southwest Gulf of Mexico and an area of high pressure over New England, stiff winds off of the Atlantic will help to produce scattered downpours.
The downpours will have a tendency to fall apart the further inland they move. Highs Tuesday will top out in the mid-to-upper 80s along the coast and lower 90s inland.
Winds will pick up out of the east through Tuesday, gusting to near 30 mph at times.
Rain chances hover at 30-40% for much of the week.
Storm chances will have a slightly better chance to move more inland Wednesday.
Tropics update:
The disturbance in the southwest Gulf of Mexico has been designated as Potential Tropical Cyclone 1 by the National Hurricane Center.
This designation is given by the hurricane center when the storm is not yet tropical meteorologically but is expected to become a tropical storm and impact land soon.
A disturbance east of Florida is also being highlighted for possible tropical development. A secondary area in the Gulf of Mexico has been tagged for possible development as well.
