ORLANDO, Fla. – Scattered showers and thunderstorms will pick up late this afternoon into this evening as the sea breezes collide.
The majority of the rain will happen around the Orlando metro and to the south despite the showers that have formed earlier in the day in Marion County.
What Central Florida has a lot of is heat and humidity. A Heat Advisory in Flagler County will run through 7 p.m. with heat indices of 109 degrees expected.
The rest of Central Florida will still sizzle with feels-like temperatures between 100-107 degrees lasting through the evening before cooling down.
A few showers could linger late tonight, but most will be dry under partly to mostly cloudy skies. Lows settle in the mid-70s.
The unsettled weather pattern continues all week long. Expect rain chances between 50-60% each afternoon with the typical sea breeze storms firing up each day. High temperatures will stay in the low-to-mid 90s. Heat indices will range from 100-106 degrees.
