ORLANDO, Fl. – An area of disturbed weather hanging off the east coast of Florida will bring more wet weather to the region.
The National Hurricane Center early Thursday said there was a 10% chance of tropical development over the next two to seven days. Atmospheric conditions look marginally conducive for tropical development.
The disturbance will increase rain chances, 50-70%, through the evening in Central Florida, with some areas possibly picking up 2 inches of rain.
Due to the clouds and the on and off rain, afternoon highs in the Orlando area are expected to remain in the upper 80s, below the average for this time of year.
Also, Saharan dust is still present across the Florida Peninsula, lowering the air quality to a moderate level. Sensitive groups with respiratory issues should consider limiting time outdoors.
From Friday and into the weekend, afternoon highs will be back above average, in the middle to upper 90s, with moderate rain chances.
