ORLANDO, Fla. – Happy weekend! Scattered rain and storms will continue to develop across Central Florida through the rest of Saturday. Around sunset, most of the showers should begin to fade.
Overnight low temperatures are expected to fall into the upper 70s.
The Saharan dust will stick around Central Florida for the next few days, affecting air quality in some counties but resulting in vibrant sunrises and sunsets. If you have respiratory issues, it’s best to limit outdoor activities.
From Sunday onward, there’s a 60-70% chance of rain as sea breezes collide. Luckily, the rain will wash away some dust, slightly improving air quality. Some areas may see 1-2 inches or more of rain each day.
High temperatures will stay above normal through Sunday and the coming week as high pressure builds over Central Florida. Remember to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
TROPICS:
As of Saturday evening, the tropics are calm with a large area of Saharan dust covering most of the Atlantic Basin, Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico.
Even though there are a few tropical waves meandering across the tropics, the dust will likely prevent any tropical development in the next week.
