ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida remains under the influence of a large ridge of high pressure over the Atlantic that will keep the region steamy and stormy through the majority of the week.

MONDAY & TUESDAY

We will have mostly sunny skies to start Monday, allowing highs to heat into the mid- to low 90s into the afternoon, with “feels like” temperatures hovering from 100-107degrees.

A moderate to major risk for heat-related illness will be present each afternoon this week.

By 2 p.m., sea breezes will move inland across the area, producing a 60-70% chance for scattered rain and storms into the evening.

Once the sea breezes collide along I-4, storms will become more stagnant, which will cause rainfall accumulations of 1-3 inches under stronger storms. Along with heavy downpours, storms will be capable of producing frequent lightning and wind gusts up to 50-60 mph.

WEDNESDAY

Models show slightly drier air filtering into the region, bringing rain chances down to 50% as less moisture will be present for showers to develop along the sea breezes.

Wednesday will potentially be the warmest day of the week, with highs in the upper 90s.

Be safe out there.
