ORLANDO, Fla. – The forecast across Central Florida is starting to sound like a broken record as the heat and storms continue to dominate the daily weather pattern.
TEMPERATURES
Heat remains a big concern through the next several days as high soar into the mid-90s, with heat indices ranging from 102-110 degrees.
Everyone should continue to take action to prevent heat-related illnesses by taking frequent cooling breaks and staying well-hydrated.
Warm and muggy conditions will persist into the overnight hours, with lows only dipping into the mid- to upper 70s.
RAIN CHANCES
The east coast sea breeze will develop Tuesday afternoon and push inland, colliding with the opposing breeze from the west by Tuesday evening. Similar to Monday, the highest threat (60%) for rain is forecast near the I-4 corridor with a bit of drier day along the coastline.
Storms will be capable of producing lighting, gusty winds (40-50 mph) and heavy downpours. With slow-moving storms late in the day, we could see rainfall totals between 1-3 inches of rain in some spots. Most of the activity weakens by sundown.
By Wednesday, a band of drier air is forecast to drift across east Central Florida, which will help limit shower and storm development for areas south of Orlando. Areas further north, will keep a 50-60% chance through Wednesday afternoon.
By late week and into the weekend, moisture values are forecast to surge back into the area, increasing the coverage of rain for most of us (60-70%).
