Heat, storm chances ramp up in Central Florida. Here’s what to expect

Tropical moisture returns to Central Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. – Deeper tropical moisture has returned to Central Florida Tuesday as a weak disturbance passes by.

RAIN OUTLOOK:

The current weather setup will support higher rain and storm coverage by the afternoon as the sea breezes develops along the coast and spreading rain further inland. The highest chance for rain (70-80%) will be along I-4 and neighborhoods west, where the sea breeze are forecast to collide.

The main threats with these storms will be lightning, gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall accumulations of 1-3 inches.

The large ridge of high pressure over the Atlantic drifts back over the region filtering drier air once again. This will decrease rain chances down to 30-50% Wednesday through the rest of the week.

TEMPERATURE OUTLOOK:

Hot and humid conditions remain in place Tuesday with more of the same through the rest of the week.

Tuesday could be the coolest day of the week due to the earlier start to the rain with highs hitting 94 degrees in Orlando and heat indices from 101-107.

For the rest of the week drier air and less rain will allow highs to climb further through the day into the upper 90s.
