ORLANDO, Fla. – After a mild and muggy start to our Saturday, expect to see widespread showers and thunderstorms again this afternoon.

Afternoon highs today top out around 95 degrees. Our chance of rain is 60%.

Overnight tonight, lows drop to 75 degrees. Storms should clear by 10 a.m. Then Sunday, we do it all over again. Highs climb to 94 with rain chances staying at 60%

Showers should begin moving into our western counties like Marion and Sumter by early afternoon. Much like we saw yesterday, storm movement will be slow and erratic. That means localized flooding and ponding of water on roadways will be a concern.

The normal high this time of year is 92. As we move into the work week, highs stay warmer than normal ranging from 93-95. The chance of rain Monday and Tuesday goes to 70% before dropping back to 60% by Wednesday.

The National Hurricane Center is continuing to monitor a wave in the Central Atlantic. As of 8 a.m. Saturday, it is giving that wave a 30% chance of further development as it travels to the west-northwest. Models are varying from run-to-run on the future of this wave, but if it were to be factor in our weather, it wouldn’t be until next weekend into early next week.
