Central Florida sees lingering tropical moisture, gusty winds from Debby

Rain, storm coverage at 50-60%

ORLANDO, Fla. – Although Tropical Storm Debby is located about 200 miles northeast of Central Florida, residual effects from the tropical system is still expected locally through Tuesday.

TUESDAY

Deep tropical moisture will linger across the area for another day with rain and storm coverage at 50-60%.

Locally heavy rain and flooding will be the primary concern, which will add to the 3-5 inches of rain already accumulated over the past two days.

Along with the rain, the gusty winds will also remain in place with gusts picking up between 30-35 mph.

Beachgoers and boaters beware as gusty winds in place along with Tropical Storm Debby off the Atlantic coast will rough up waters and the surf. Small craft advisory in in place through the evening with rough seas up to 8 feet along with a high risk of rip currents along the beaches.

High through the afternoon remain near to below normal in the upper 80s to near 90.

WEDNESDAY:

By midweek, drier air will filter in on the back side of Deby, dropping rain chances below seasonal at 30-40% with highs warming back to near normal in the low 90s.

LATE WEEK-WEEKEND:

Late in the week and into the weekend, weather across Central Florida should start to get back to normal with afternoon sea breeze storms with highs soaring above average in the mid 90s.

Plenty of added humidity in place will keep the feels like temperatures hovering in the triple digits. Heat advisories could be needed by the weekend.
