A ridge of high pressure in the lower levels will be the key player in the heat forecast for Central Florida.
This ridge will nose itself from Louisiana to Central Florida and really reinforce the heat.
Highs in the Orlando area on Thursday are expected to reach the mid-90s, with a few areas possibly hitting the upper 90s.
The humidity will still be the biggest factor in regard to how hot it will feel outside.
Heat indices of 105-110, with 114 degrees possible in some areas.
A heat advisory is in effect through 6 p.m.
Slightly drier air will continue to filter in behind Debby, which will take rain chances down a bit in Central Florida.
Overall rain chances for Thursday remain between 30-40% across most of the region. A better chance of rain will remain over northern Marion and portions of northern Flagler counties, with 50% in the forecast.
By the weekend, a weakness in the ridge will allow for more typical sea breeze action.
Highs will still linger in the mid-90s each day, with “feels like” temperatures slightly below heat advisory criteria.
Rain chances will be scattered each afternoon through the evening at 60%.
