ORLANDO, Fla. – Sunday starts off nice in the mid-to-upper 70s, but with plenty of sunshine the heat will settle in quickly.
Expect highs to range from the upper 80s and low 90s along the coast to the low and even mid 90s inland. Humidity will rise throughout the day as well making it feel a bit muggier than it has been over the last day or so. Heat indices will be near 100 degrees.
We can’t rule out a few sprinkles of rain in the afternoon. Most remain dry all day with rain chances at 10-20%. Sunday night could feature a few isolated storms that roll into northern counties around 9 or 10 p.m. as a frontal boundary inches closer to northern Florida, if they hold together.
Keep in mind swells from Hurricane Ernesto will still bring hazards to our coastline. Expect breaking waves up to four feet and high rip current risks that could sweep even the strongest swimmers out to sea in an instant.
Moisture continues to build up again Monday into midweek as a weakening front stalls out over Central Florida. This feature will keep rain chances around 50-70% through late week.
Highs are expected to reach the mid 90s, but late week the clouds and rainfall will help keep the heat closer to average in the low 90s.
Heat indices each day will range from 100-106 degrees.
