ORLANDO, Fla. – The cold front that has been affecting Central Florida remains stalled overhead, continuing to enhance the region’s chance for storms and gusty winds.
Thursday:
The primary window for storms and showers will span the afternoon and evening hours, generally between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. The most intense rainfall is forecasted around the 3 p.m. hour, potentially impacting school dismissal times and other after school activities.
While the risk of severe weather is low, there remains a possibility for significant lightning, gusty winds and an isolated risk of waterspouts, like we saw on Wednesday.
Afternoon highs will stay below average, hovering in the low 90s due to the rain and cloud cover.
Friday:
For Friday, the storms are expected to slightly shift further inland, affecting areas along I-4 and westward, as opposed to mainly along the east coast on Thursday.
No matter where you are over the next few days, beneficial rain will be around with coverage staying at 70%.
Looking ahead
The wet pattern will persist through the weekend. However, it won’t be a washout, with showers and thunderstorms becoming more widespread through the afternoon as the cold front nearby will keep dragging in more moisture each day.
