ORLANDO, Fla. – Brace yourselves, Central Florida!
As deep tropical moisture continues to stream in from the southeast, another round of scattered downpours hit the region Monday afternoon.

Labor Day forecast
Throughout Labor Day, a southeast breeze will funnel in plenty of tropical moisture, allowing the east and west coast sea breezes to collide across inland counties.
This collision is expected to occur along the I-4 corridor between 5-6 p.m., lingering for a few hours. We could see another round of high rainfall accumulation in some zones, with amounts reaching 2-3 inches on top of what we saw Sunday.
The main weather hazards will include lightning, wind, and especially flooding in areas that were heavily saturated from Sunday’s rain.
Temperatures will remain near normal, hovering in the upper 80s to low 90s. With the added humidity, it will feel like 100 to 105 degrees this afternoon.
Work week forecast
As we head into the first full week of September, expect a stronger east coast sea breeze to develop, bringing another round of rain and storms tracking from east to west through the afternoon with coverage remaining high at 60-70%.
Tropic update
We are now at the peak of hurricane season.
Currently, there are no tropical threats for us, but we are monitoring three areas: one in the Gulf of Mexico with a low chance of development, another in the Caribbean with a 40% chance as it approaches the Yucatan Peninsula, and a third area off the coast of Africa, also with a 40 % chance of development in the next seven days.
