Afternoon storms, heat in Central Florida. Here’s when things change

Seasonal weather pattern continues with changes expected as fall begins

ORLANDO, Fla. – This week marks the last week of the summer season, and Central Florida will continue to experience a very summer-like weather pattern with a few afternoon storms expected.

A Tornado Warning for Central Volusia County has canceled.

Rain chances will remain between 50-60% for Thursday and into Friday.

As fall officially begins on Sunday, expect rain chances to dial back a bit, leading to slightly drier weather over the weekend with coverage at 30%.

As rain chances fluctuate a bit, temperatures will remain consistent with highs in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees and lows in the mid 70s.

Fall officially begins on Sunday officially at 8:43 p.m.

Tropics

We’re closely monitoring two areas in the tropics. One is the remnants of what was Gordon, which has a 60% chance of redevelopment within the next few days.

The other area is in the Caribbean and is one that Floridians should be closely monitor over the weekend.

The National Hurricane Center is giving it a 20% chance of tropical development in the next seven days as it moves north into the Gulf of Mexico by the middle of next week. Since the system has yet to develop, the exact timing and path continues remains uncertain. Make sure to stay tuned for updates as the forecast evolves.
