ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida is in for another hot day with abundant sunshine to start the week. Daytime highs will reach lower 90s inland and upper 80s along the coasts.
Expect rain chances to stay very low around 10%.
As we move into mid-week, expect to see a slight increase in cloud cover with some areas experiencing isolated showers. This pattern is likely to continue until Wednesday, when storm chances begin to increase across the region to 60%.
Pinpointing The Tropics:
In the tropics, an area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms is developing over the Western Caribbean.
The National Hurricane Center has highlighted this area and the Gulf of Mexico for a high chance of tropical development over the next seven days. A tropical depression could form early this week. If named, it will be called Helene.
The models currently show potential for the system to move through the northwestern Caribbean Sea into the Gulf of Mexico, with a possible impact on Northern Florida, including the Big Bend area. Keep an eye on updates as the system’s path becomes clearer.
