ORLANDO, Fla. – Our scattered shower chances are creeping back into the forecast this week as small pulses of moisture track in off the Atlantic waters.
Besides a few speedy spots of rain this week, expect a near-normal week with highs reaching the mid 80s.
The best shot for rain Monday afternoon will be focused on coastal communities, especially in Volusia County with coverage up to 20-30%.
A large ridge of high pressure remains in control throughout the week, increasing our onshore winds. Forecast calls for winds to pick up out of the northeast between 15-20 mph and gusts up to 30 mph.
The strong breeze in place will pose hazards for those hoping to enjoy beach or boating activities. A small craft advisory will be likely by Tuesday along with a high risk of rip currents.
Looking ahead to Halloween on Thursday, weather looks to be close to a normal Halloween for Central Florida. Temperatures by 6 p.m. will be mild in the upper 70s with temperatures cooling into the low 70s by 9 p.m. while conditions remains mostly dry.
Tropical development monitored in Caribbean
The National Hurricane Center is closely monitoring a new area in the Caribbean with a moderate potential for development.
Currently, this area shows a 40% chance of formation within the next seven days.
The progression, timing, and intensity remain uncertain, but this is a good reminder that hurricane season continues through the end of November.
