Cold front to sweep through Central Florida. Here’s how low temps will go

Friday to feel noticeably cooler after stronger front moves through area

ORLANDO, Fla. – A stronger cold front is on its way toward Central Florida, bringing temperatures back to near normal for November!

Thursday

Ahead of the front on Thursday, expect mostly dry conditions for the day with highs in the low 80s along the coast and into the mid 80s further inland.

Later in the day, the cold front will start moving into Central Florida, reaching the northern part of the state by Thursday evening.

Cold Front

As it approaches, we can’t rule out a few scattered showers (about 20%) embedded along the front. There could be a few scattered showers in north Florida, but these should weaken as the front pushes south.

Overnight lows remain mild in the mid to upper 60s.

Friday-Weekend:

The cold front will clear out by Friday afternoon with a few lingering showers still possible early Friday morning.

Winds will pick up, becoming gusty along the coast behind the front, reaching 20-25 mph. When it comes to temperatures, Friday will feel noticeably cooler!

Highs are expected to run near normal in the mid-to-upper 70s in the northern parts of east Central Florida and low 80s further south of Orlando. By Friday night, temperatures will drop into the 50s across the interior, and stay in the 60s along the coast.

Temp Trend

For the weekend, high pressure will build across the area, bringing a great weather for Saturday and Sunday.

Highs remain near average in the mid-to-upper 70s as winds shift north-northeast through the afternoon. Lows will also remain cool starting in the upper 50s to low 60s Saturday night and staying in the 60s for much of the area on Sunday night.

Monday through Wednesday:

As for the tropics, newly designated Tropical Depression 19 could strengthen into Tropical Storm Sara before it makes landfall from Central America to the Yucatan Peninsula over the weekend.

There’s still plenty of uncertainty about its track, but long range models do show the system lifting northward into the Gulf of Mexico by Tuesday or Wednesday.

While it’s still too early to say what, if any, impacts this storm might have on Central Florida, it’s definitely something to keep checking back on as we continue to monitor it. Here’s how to track the tropics with our free News 6 Pinpoint Weather App.
